I still remember the buzz of excitement as I walked into the Young Lawyers Forum Summit 2025, at the Dining Hall of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, on that 26th day of March, at the Dining Hall of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. Especially as an Associate at Infusion Lawyers, a firm that’s always pushing the boundaries of law and technology, I was eager to dive into the conversations and learn from bold movers who are breaking the mold. And boy, did I!
The summit was a wake-up call—a reminder that the legal profession is evolving rapidly, and we need to evolve with it. I felt like I was among like-minded individuals who share my passion for innovation and growth. The discussions were lively, and the insights were invaluable.
Master your craft early.
One of the key takeaways that really resonated with me was the importance of mastering my craft early on. I realized that the foundational skills I build now will either support or limit me later. It’s a no-brainer, but it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget to invest in continuous learning. I’m making a mental note to prioritize my professional development and stay ahead of the curve.
Own your “why”.
Another key takeaway that hit home was the power of owning my “why.” Knowing my purpose helps me stay grounded and focused, and it’s amazing how much progress can be built through consistent, intentional action. It’s not just about going through the motions; it’s about being deliberate and purposeful in my journey.
AI won’t (necessarily) replace lawyers.
The summit also made me appreciate more that AI won’t necessarily replace lawyers, but lawyers who embrace AI will have the edge. I’m excited to explore legaltech tools and enhance my value as a lawyer. It’s not about being replaced; it’s about being augmented.
Your LinkedIn is more than a CV.
I also took away the importance of curating my digital reputation, particularly on LinkedIn. It’s no longer just a CV; it’s my online presence, and I need to be visible, valuable, and vocal about my journey. I’m committed to building my personal brand and making a meaningful impact.
Get in the room where decisions are made.
One of the most inspiring moments for me was when a speaker emphasized the need to get in the room where decisions are made. Intelligence is expected, but impact comes from offering insights that drive results. I’m determined to make my voice heard and contribute to meaningful discussions.
To lead in law, we must be adaptable, bold, and clear.
As I reflect on the summit, I’m reminded that leading in law requires adaptability, boldness, and clarity. The future of legal practice is not about tradition; it’s about transformation. And at Infusion Lawyers, we’re not just watching the future unfold; we’re helping to shape it.
So, what’s my next bold move? I’m committed to being at the forefront of innovation and impact. I’m excited to see what’s next and how I can contribute to the evolution of the legal profession.
What about you? What’s your next bold move?
