Devote a single payment card for your online purchases to minimize your risk.
If you have more than one bank account and each of these bank accounts has its own payment card, it might be tempting to use them all when you are shopping online at different websites. This is tempting but could be very risky.
Designate one payment card for all your online transactions. This way, if an online store you’re buying items from is attacked by hackers, you will only need to report one stolen payment card to your financial institution and you’ll easily know which of your credit cards is affected. While you are waiting for replacement of the stolen card, you’ll still be able to use your other payment cards for your online transactions. It will even reduce your exposure to risk since this account is not expected to house your savings or all you have got.
From now on, devote a single payment card for your online purchases—if you haven’t done so already.
